This site is dedicated to providing the public with information regarding lead in toys and toy recalls that may affect what your children use on a daily basis. Lead in toys is a hidden danger that you may be overlooking as a parent. There are numerous ways that your child can be exposed to lead, whether it be from the paint that many toys manufactured overseas is covered in, or the actual soldering of metal joints in items such as jewely or electronic devices.
Either way, lead and lead paint are likely in items that your children may handle and are exposed to every day. The United States is progressively moving toward the elimination of all lead in toys and jewelry. Senator Barack Obama from Illinois has introduced a bill called the Lead Free Toys Act of 2007 requiring that congress officially address the growing issue of lead in toys and jewlery.
Here at toyslibrary.com, we have put together a small bit of information to help you in the fight against lead in toys. We have on the homepage below, a feed of the most current toy recalls from the COnsumer Product Safety Commission. We also have a list of links that may help you determine where to find more information about lead in toys.
